Toni Hendrix
Superstar Advocate Awardee, CASA of Middlesex County
CASA recruits and trains volunteers to advise the courts and advocate for the children’s best interests. Toni’s outstanding service CASA is being recognized on May 6 when she will receive the Superstar Advocate Award at the CASA Toast 2025 event. We applaud Toni and her work to strengthen our local communities.

Toni Hendrix has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer for children in the foster care system since 2020 and serves on the CASA of Middlesex County Equity committee. Ms. Hendrix has served as a Peer Coach to other volunteer advocates for over three years and is currently overseeing five volunteer advocates and their cases in her role as a Peer Coach. Throughout her time with CASA of Middlesex County, Ms. Hendrix has helped a total of 30 children in the role of advocate or Peer Coach.
Ms. Hendrix is a founding Trustee and President of the Lost Souls Public Memorial Project, Inc. whose mission is to uncover relevant history, raise community awareness and build a public memorial through centering the experiences of those who have become known as the lost souls, stolen in 1818 by a slave ring led by a corrupt Middlesex County judge. She has guided the organization through the transition from a project to a historical society recognized as a valuable resource for educators and community members seeking to develop a deeper understanding of New Jersey’s history in the domestic slave trade.
Ms. Hendrix is a Lifetime member of the NAACP and serves as the 2nd Vice President and Community Outreach/Civic Engagement Chairperson for the New Brunswick Area Branch. She also serves on the executive committee of the NJ State Conference of the NAACP. In her NAACP role, Toni helps develop and guide efforts to foster effective collaboration with organizations serving the community. She also works with businesses and organizations seeking to develop a deeper understanding of structural bias and how it impacts the community being served.
Toni is committed to supporting the civic engagement of high school and college students and has received accolades for her work with Franklin Township High School, Rutgers University, Middlesex County College, Raritan Valley Community College and Montgomery Township School District.
For the past 25 years, Toni’s professional career has been focused exclusively on the nonprofit and performing arts communities, providing strategic level consultation, with an emphasis on business development, marketing, and developing institutional customer focused relationships. Before focusing exclusively on her consulting practice, Ms. Hendrix held numerous managerial positions with AT&T and NCR. Notable was her role as Operating Partner for the AT&T Professional Services Business Unit, where, in addition to building and managing the unit, she led the completion of dozens of complex business assessment and redesign engagements throughout the United States, Asia Pacific Region, Australia, New Zealand, Caribbean Region and London, England.
Toni is a graduate of the Indiana University - Leadership Development for Global Business Management program, and a MIT Sloan School of Management - Emerging Leaders program graduate.
